Zarif departs Rome for Baku

ROME, Dec. 01 (MNA) – Iranian FM Zarif, who was on a one-day visit to Italy on Thursday, departed the European country for Baku, capital of Azerbaijan.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mohammad Javad Zarif, is visiting Azerbaijan in order to participate at the seventh Ministerial Conference of the Heart of Asia - Istanbul Process on Afghanistan.

A total of 14 regional countries, 17 countries supporting the process, and representatives of 12 regional and international organizations will participate in the upcoming seventh session of the ministerial conference to be co-chaired by Afghanistan and Azerbaijan.

While in Italy, he attended the third international conference on Mediterranean dialogues with representatives from 56 countries in attendance.

On the sidelines of the conference, the high-ranking Iranian official met and talked with his Italian and Iraqi counterparts as well as with the current High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs Federica Mogherini.
