23 suspects arrested for Tehran terror attack

TEHRAN, Nov. 07 (MNA) – Tehran’s attorney general Abbas Jafari Dolatabadi announced the arrest of 23 suspects who are thought to have been behind the June 7 terrorist attacks on Iranian Parliament.

Tehran’s attorney general Abas Jafari Dolatabadi said Tuesday that 23 suspects have been detained on charges related to the June 7 terrorist attack on the Iranian parliament during which 17 civilians were killed and 43 were wounded.

ISIL claimed responsibility for the attack on the Parliament as well as another attack on Imam Khomeini Shrine on the same day.

Jafari Dolatabadi discussed another case involving ISIL terrorists, adding “there is another case about individuals who left Iran with their families and entered Syria through Turkey so as to join ISIL. After ISIL militants were forced to retreat, they had to return to Iran. Most of them were women whose husbands were ISIL soldiers either killed in combat or arrested.”

“They [the women] joined ISIL with total awareness of the terrorist activities of this group. They were paid for their services to ISIL and they had considerable amounts of cash with them when they were captured,” he added.

Abas Jafari Dolatabadi also confirmed a death sentence at the supreme court of Iran for an ISIL member.
