Sole military power insufficient for gaining intl. influence

TEHRAN, Aug. 28 (MNA) – AEOI Spokesman Behrouz Kamalvandi said sole military power cannot make a country influential on the international scene if the country’s image is distorted by enemies’ plots.

Spokesman for the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Behrouz Kamalvandi made the remarks on Sunday, highlighting the need for making efforts in line with creating an image of the country’s achievements and ideals based on reality as a way to thwart enemies’ attempts at advancing their Iranophobia project.

“Our enemies brandish the weapon of Iranophobia to hamper our economic growth,” Kamalvandi said, adding “if a country only possesses military might but a poor economy, it cannot have any influence on the international scene.”

“Iranophobia can create a situation in which we will not be able to make use of the benefits of JCPOA and sanctions relief. That is why our enemies are adamant to enflame anti-Iran sentiments by raising issues such as terrorism, human rights, regional issues, and getting access to our military sites,” he said.

Kamalvandi went on to voice his belief that Iran has followed the right path toward nuclear advancement, stressing the need for further constructive interaction with the world to gain access to raw materials; “otherwise, our nuclear industry will be like a car without fuel,” he added.

“Once we manage to overcome the ‘Trump’ problem, as we already have with many other crises, I am hopeful that Iran would become one of the top seven, eight main actors in the world,” said Kamalvandi.
