Mexico Iran's corridor to access US, Europe markets

TEHRAN, May 27 (MNA) – Mexican Ambassador to Iran Alfonso Zegbe said Mexico is Iran's corridor to access European and American markets.

He made the remarks in a meeting with Chairman of Alborz Chamber of Commerce Rahim Bana Molaie on Saturday.

Mexico exports food and canned products to China, Malaysia, Japan, Philippines and the US, he said, adding "we are ready to cooperate with Iran in the field."

Pointing to the Mexican commercial cooperation with Muslim countries in the field of Halal food products, Zegbe said his country could produce and export Halal food to those countries, under Iran’s Halal license.

He expressed Mexico's willingness to expand ties with Iran, adding cooperation in trade exchanges is welcomed.

Calling Bandar Abbas’s Customs a suitable place for Iran-Mexico’s commercial exchanges, he expressed hope that the agreements between the two countries might provide the ground for business relations.

Expressing willingness for cooperation with Iran in the field of agricultural products, he said Mexico is the center of agricultural products, especially tomatoes, cocoa and corn.

He also described political and cultural relations between the two countries as good, noting we have taken some measures for the two nations to become more familiar with each other’s culture.

He also said that to do so, we invited 45 Iranian artists to Mexico to show Iranian culture in the country.
