Massive turnout displays Iran’s soft power

TEHRAN, May 21 (MNA) – SNSC Head Shamkhani said epic presence of people in May 19 elections once again exhibited Iran’s soft power and further strengthened authority and security of Islamic Revolution.

In a message, Head of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Rear Admiral Ali Shamkhani congratulated President Hassan Rouhani on his return to the office for the second term.

He highlighted that the massive turnout on Friday could showcase soft power of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the world and fortify foundations of authority and security in the Islamic Revolution.

“Undoubtedly, reelection of you, as a companion and comrade of the Leader since tough years of struggle against tyranny as well as the Sacred Defense, remains as a symbol of people’s confidence in revolutionary values and your professional skills at directing the country towards higher economic, social and cultural targets.”

Shamkhani also noted that holding of safe and orderly election in a very sensitive region, regardless of political values, is a crystal-clear manifestation of the country’s security capabilities and capacities as well as showing prudence and efforts of directors and employees of relevant organizations.

Hereby, I thank the noble people of Iran both at home and abroad as well as candidates and their campaigns who for providing the ground for competitive and secure elections, said SNSC head congratulating President Rouhani on receiving trust of people and wished him success.
