Pakistan's parl. speaker leaves Islamabad for Tehran

TEHRAN, Apr. 21 (MNA) – Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, the Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan, at the head of a parliamentary delegation, left Islamabad early on Friday for Tehran.

Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, the Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan who is also a senior member of the Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) which is currently the governing party of Pakistan, left Islamabad early on Friday for Tehran at the head of a senior parliamentary delegation.

He is making the visit upon the invitation of his Iranian counterpart, Ali Larijani, and in response to Larijani’s visit to Islamabad in early December 2014.

After landing at Imam Khomeini International Airport, in southern outskirts of Tehran, Mr. Sadiq will move southward to Qom city for pilgrimage.

In addition to meeting with his Iranian counterpart, the senior Pakistani legislator is also scheduled to meet with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif. Also he is slated to share the table with some other Iranian officials like Mohammad Reza Nematzadeh, Iran’s Minister of Industry, Mines, and Trade, and Alaeddin Boroujerdi, the Chairman of the Iranian Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Committee.
