“If Trump rejects the nuclear deal, we will surprise him the same way he likes to surprise the others, as I have said before,” said Mohammad Javad Zarif, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, on the sidelines of the Extraordinary Session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers on the situation of the Rohingya Muslim Minority in Myanmar.
He made the remark in response to the reporters asking him what Iran’s probable reaction would be to Trump’s scraping of nuclear deal. When asked how he would surprise Trump, Zarif replied that if said it would be no more a surprise.
“It is up to the US to decide to behave in front of the international community,” asserted the Iranian top diplomat after boasting that the foreign policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran follows the same principles. “It seems the others are worried about Trump’s in-campaigning remarks, especially about the issue of Palestine and some other issues, but we are not at all worried, and we wait to see."
He stressed that the nuclear deal is an international agreement which leaves nothing to worry about for Iran. “Whatever Trump does, does not concern us at all, as we have our own options. However, it is an international agreement which demands the full commitment of the whole world.”
