TEHRAN, Dec. 06 (MNA) – The 6th international tournament robotics cup of Amirkabir University of Technology (AUTCup 2016) and the first Humanoid Olympic Competitions announced winners on Monday.

The 6th international tournament robotics cup of Amirkabir University of technology (AUTCup 2016) and the first Humanoid Olympic Competitions was held on 1-5 December 2016 in Tehran with 80 Iranian and 65 foreign teams participating in the event.

145 teams from Iran, Canada, Germany, Taiwan, Afghanistan, Lebanon, Iraq and Syria qualified to take part in 8 major and junior leagues including MAV robots, Transporter, Deminer Robots, Humanoid Robot Olympics, and @Work.

In Advanced Transporter league, independent team Ultra Bot, Islamic Azad university of Varamin, and Arnema Transporter from Islamic Azad University of Islamshahr won the first to third place, respectively.

In Transporter A – non-Iranian Junior league, Torbo (Iraq), Aryana Robot (Iraq) and Arnema-Junior won the first to third places, respectively.

In MAV Robots, Khayyam team from Islamic Azad University of Neishabour, DIAG from Islamic Azad University of Islamshahr, and Persis from Islamic Azad University of Khomeinishahr were placed in the first to third rankings, respectively.

The Humanoid Robot Olympics was held for the first time in various leagues including football, weight lifting, basketball, shooting, gymnastic, rugby, track and field and karate.

AUTMan NAO from Amirkabir University stood at first place by clenching three gold medals in rugby, weight lifting and shot put, two silver medals in shooting and relief race, and two bronze medals in karate and sprinting.

AUTMan Kid from Amirkabir University ranked second by winning three golds in karate, gymnastic and shooting, and two silvers in relief race and sprinting.

The third place went to RoboMech for winning a gold medal in sprinting, three silvers in rugby, relief race and weight lifting, and two bronze medals in karate and shot put.

The jury panel named Taipe Sniper from Taiwan as the top team in the technical challenge of the Humanoid Robot Olympics for its creativity in performance.

This was the second consecutive time that the AUTCup was held in collaboration with the international Federation of Robotics Feira (FIRA). Currently, 10 Asian countries, 15 from Europe, 3 from Africa and 6 from America are members of FIRA.
