Iran, Indonesia hold 3rd Human Rights Dialogue

TEHRAN, Nov. 23 (MNA) – The 3rd Indonesia-Iran Human Rights Dialogue was held in Tehran for two days, Monday and Tuesday.

Headed by Zahra Pishgahi Fard, the Director General of Human Rights and Women Affairs at Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and the Head of Indonesia's Directorate of Human Rights, Humanitarian Affairs Dicky Komar, the meeting focused on issues of human rights development in Iran and Indonesia, cooperation in areas of interest within the framework of human rights mechanisms established by the United Nations and other international communities, cooperation for promoting and protecting women, children and disabled people rights. 

During the talks, Indonesia's seven-member delegation, in addition to meeting with the concerned authorities in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran, held talks and discussed with the officials of Iranian Society for Protecting the Rights of the Child as well as managers of Iran's Vice Presidency for Women and Family Affairs.

Indonesian side also met with officials of Welfare Organization of Iran and Kahrizak Charity Foundation in the second day of talks.

At the end of the talks, the parties agreed to continue their annual cooperation and hold the next round of dialogue for human rights cooperation between the two countries in Jakarta in 2017.
