Mr. Bahram Ghasemi told the press in his Monday session on Lebanese presidential elections that the political solidarity and convergence evident in election of president was a great leap forward in strengthening of democracy and political stability in Lebanon; “after almost 2 and half years of extended political activity, Lebanese political arena has hit a great agreement on a position which had been abandoned empty; the election to the president of Michael Aoun is an indication that Lebanon is still a place where different ethnic and religious groups would live a life of peaceful coexistence, and where political problems would find solutions through dialogue,” Ghasemi added.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran hails the political development in Lebanon as the beginning of a period of flourishment of country where it would improve relations with Iran as well,” he concluded.
