Iran, Romania to expand consular ties

TEHRAN, Sep. 19 (MNA) – Deputy Foreign Minister for Consular Affairs has said Iran welcomes expansion of consular cooperation with Romania.

Hassan Ghashghavi received Romanian head of consular affairs on Monday where both sides discussed facilitation of visa issuance for Iranian and Romanian nationals especially for tradesmen and entrepreneurs, tourists, and students.

Ghashghavi believed judiciary cooperation, prisoner swap and extradition, and relaxing visa issuance conditions would be a great step forward in bilateral relations.

Romanian head of consular affairs for his part provided the meeting with a report of achievements and progress in the 4th Iran-Romania Consular Session with Ghashghavi, and expressed his country’s willingness to develop ties with Iran in practical matters as fighting drug trafficking, human traffic, and easing travel conditions for Iranians and Romanians.
