FM spokesperson condemns Pakistan terrorist blast

TEHRAN, Sep. 17 (MNA) – Foreign Ministry spokesperson has condemned a terrorist blast in a mosque in Pakistan’s tribal region.

Bahram Ghasemi offered condolences to the families of victims and Pakistani government in official FM reaction to the blast. “Time has come now when countries in the region should coordinate efforts through joint cooperation and strong resolve to seriously fight terrorism and to address its evil roots and contributing factors,” he told reporters.

A suicide attack at a Pakistani mosque in the country's tribal areas killed at least 25 people on Friday, an official told CNN. Jamaat-ul-Ahra, a splinter group of the Pakistani Taliban, has claimed responsibility for the bombing that also injured 34 people, according to the group's spokesman Ehsanullah Ehsan.
