Ghaeni elected for Executive Committee of IBBY

TEHRAN, Aug. 30 (MNA) – In the latest congress of the International Board on Books for Young People held in New Zealand, Iranian author of children’s literature, Zohreh Ghaeni was elected as a member of the Executive Committee of the entity.

Zohreh Ghaeni, from the Children's Book Council (CBC) of Iran, was elected for the Executive Committee of the International Board on Books for Young People (IBBY) along with other board members from Russia, the USA, France, Turkey, the UK, Denmark, Mongolia, Mexico, and South Africa for the two-year term of 2016-2018.

The National Sections at the General Assembly gathered at the 35th IBBY International Congress in Auckland of New Zealand, in August 18-21, 2016, also elected the President of the Board for 2016-2018 and the President of the 2018 Hans Christian Andersen Award Jury.

The Congress was held at the Aotea Centre, on Queen Street in the heart of Auckland City and the final day of the Congress was combined with the 23rd annual Storylines Festival of New Zealand’s Writers and Illustrators Family Day.
