Iran, Bolivia sign MoU on space coop.

SANTA CRUZ DE LA SIERRA, Aug. 27 (MNA) – Iran and Bolivia signed a memorandum of understanding on space cooperation in Bolivia's biggest city, Santa Cruz de la Sierra, on Friday.

The MoU includes expansion of scientific, technical and academic relations in the field of space and other areas of mutual interest, cooperation between universities and research centers, public and private institutes, cooperation on exchanging technology, expertise, equipment and other related resources, exchanging experiences on design and construction of satellites, space lab equipment, training human resources and exchanging scientists and technical experts.

The memorandum was signed by Iran’s Ambassador to Bolivia, Seyyed Reza Tabatabaei Shafiei, and head of Bolivia’s Space Agency, Iván Zambrana, during a ceremony attended by Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and his Bolivian counterpart David Choquehuanca.

Following the signing session which was held during Iran-Bolivia’s joint economic forum, Foreign Minister Choquehuanca awarded Zarif with Bolivia’s highest state medal entitled Cóndor de los andes in line with strengthening relations between the two nations and increasing efforts for establishing peace and justice on the international scene.
