Tehran welcomes developing ties with Oslo: Rouhani

TEHRAN, Aug. 18 (MNA) – President Rouhani of Iran underlined that there was no hurdle ahead of developing ties and cooperation between Tehran and Oslo.

Rouhani of Islamic Republic of Iran made the remarks on Wednesday while receiving visiting Norwegian Foreign Minister Børge Brende.

President Rouhani contended that the success of Iran-5+1 talks proved that international disputes can be solved via dialogue and called for proper benefiting from the situation created today after the successful implementation of the JCPOA.

“Developing banking relations paves the way for expanding economic ties of Iran with Europe,” stated the Iranian President, “both sides should be committed to the obligations and complete implementation of the articles agreed in the JCPOA.”

Brende, in this meeting, voiced his satisfaction with his meeting with Iranian officials especially President Rouhani and underlined the necessity of getting full advantage of cooperation created after the implementation of the JCPOA.

“We have realized different ideas of cooperation with Iran,” said the Norwegian senior diplomat, “following the same line after ten years, now we have issued the needed guarantees to improve economic ties with Iran.” He stressed that all banking channels of communication with Iran should be activated very swiftly.

The Norwegian foreign minister also underlined the necessity of respecting the sovereignty of countries and called for cooperation of all countries in fighting against extremism, terrorism, and violence.
