Air Defense doubled missile sites, radar stations

TEHRAN, Jul. 10 (MNA) – Deputy Commander of Iran Khatam al-Anbia Air Defense Base said Sarurday the number of country’s missile sites and radar stations have increased 1.5 times and 2 times in the past five years.

Brig. Gen. Alireza Sabbahifard, Deputy Commander of Iran Khatam al-Anbia Air Defense Base, made the announcement during his visit of the Center for specialized training at Khatam al-Anbiya Air Defense Base Saturday, adding “the one-and-a-half-time increase of the country’s missile sites and the two-time increase of radar stations and cutting-edge electronic listening devices, as well as the design and development of air defense systems in the past five years are all the result of tremendous efforts made by all sectors of the air defense base.”

He went on to stress that the package of measures taken by the air defense base is in line with maintaining security and safeguarding achievements of the Islamic Republic, adding “as of now, the integrated and domestic air defense network monitors the country’s airspace with authority and has full control over it.”

He also highlighted the security provided for transit and domestic flights passing through Iran’s airspace.
