Tehran backs Syrian integration

TEHRAN, Mar. 14 (MNA) – Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arabic-African Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said Tehran supports for an integrated Syria, calling its disintegration a serious risk.

Along with the opening of Syria talks in Geneva, Amir-Abdollahian told IRNA correspondent, he will consult with Syrian Deputy Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad today in Tehran.

He underlined that only the Syrian nation can determine their fate, adding that Tehran will continue its strong support for Syria to fight terrorism, seek a political solution to the crisis and preserve the unity and territorial integrity, according to the so-called "Axis of Resistance".

“Geneva talks was arranged due to the facilitation of political solution to the Syrian crisis,” Iranian diplomat said, adding no solution could be replaced with the decision made by the Syrian nation.

He noted the terrorists should not be allowed to take advantage of ceasefire opportunity to mobilize and organize themselves.
