Iran, China agree to boost nanotechnology coop.

TEHRAN, Jan.31 (MNA) – Iranian and Chinese officials inked several agreements to expand scientific and technological cooperation between the two countries, INIC reports.

According to Iran Nanotechnology Initiative Council (INIC), various Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) in the fields of science and technology were signed between Iran's Presidential Office for Science and Technology and the Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology and China Academy of Science during the visit of the East Asian country's president to Tehran.

Creation of Silk Road Science Fund, establishment of advanced technology parks in association with China, development of nanotechnology centers (INCC) and establishment of Iranian station to export therapeutic plants in China are among the most important MoUs signed in the field of science and technology.

The joint financial fund entitled Silk Road Science Fund facilitates mutual cooperation between the two parties by providing financial support through one of the following methods: Carrying out joint research, organization of joint workshops and exchanging researchers and university lecturers. Advanced technology fields include nanotechnology, cognitive sciences and technology, new energies and medical equipment.

Taking into consideration the experience of China in the establishment of technology parks in association with other countries and establishment of an advanced technology park with cooperation of the Chinese party was suggested and agreed during the visit of the Chinese President to Iran.

Also the INIC and Suzhou Technology Park agreed to develop activities of Iran Nano China Center (INCC), located in Suzhou Park in Nanopolis area.

The Chinese delegation headed by President Xi Jinping visited Iran on Jan. 23 and signed 17 economic MoUs to transform the economic ties to a new highs in the upcoming months.
