Attended by 22 countries, the first edition of Asian Kung Fu Championship wrapped up in Kermanshah in the west of Iran where Iranian athletes became the champions with a total of 87 points.
Iran’s team was followed by Afghanistan who finished as the runner-up with 41 pints as well as Pakistan who gained 21points standing on the bronze podium.
The Islamic Republic of Iran received five gold medals in Mayan-Na (Freestyle Semi-Contact classic fight), two gold medals in Glima as well as one gold and one bronze in Stick-Fighting to win the title in all three sections.
More than 120 male athletes were present in the men’s section with Iranian Kung Fu practitioners bagging a total of eight gold medals.
Iranian women athletes also came first at the Asian Kung Fu Championship followed by Afghanistan and Mongolia in second and third places, respectively.
The competitions were held on January 25-30 in Qasr-e Shirin city of Kermanshah Province, Iran.
