‘Leader’s directives, yardstick for PMD’

TEHRAN, Nov. 17 (MNA) – Secretary of Supreme National Security Council said that Iran will stick to the Leader’s guidelines on the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and PMD.

Ali Shamkhani said that the Leader of Revolution Ayatollah Khamenei had written a letter on JCPOA and PMD which will be a yardstick for Iran.

Commenting on the claims made by a US official who said that the PMD case will not close, Shamkhani added “the claim should be logical and rational, I have not heard of such a thing; It is unlikely that PMD issue will remain open and that it will be acceptable.”

Earlier on Tuesday, Iran's representative to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Reza Najafi, said Iran has conditioned implementation of JCPOA to the closure of possible military dimension (PMD) issue.

Shamkhani, who was also talking about the connection of security and economy, stressed that Iran’s independence is subject to reinforcing economy.

He added that economy and production are the factors of power. According to national security, economic growth, GDP growth, employment, fighting corruption, exiting from recession and reducing inflation are significant features which are in connection with social phenomena.

Shamkhani said that the youth defended their country during Iraq’s imposed war and guaranteed their country’s security and independence. In order to pass the current difficult economic situation, we also should be together.

He noted that Resistance Economy is a key solution to the country’s problems.
