Vienna talks on Syria wraps up

VIENNA, Nov. 14 (MNA) – The third round of Vienna talks on Syrian crisis has just wrapped up in Vienna Hotel Imperial.

Mehr News correspondent reported from Vienna that the representatives of 20 country, EU, and UN sat to discuss Syrian crisis, which according to Mogherini, the EU foreign policy chief, gained momentum due to Paris terror attacks on Friday night.

Frank-Walter Steinmeier, German foreign minister told reporters that there was a tough road ahead; “we agreed that a meeting be held between the government of Assad and Syrian opposition with good offices of Staffan de Mistura, the UN special envoy to Syrian crisis by the end of the current year; there will be attempts to hold an election in Syria within future 18 months,” he told reporters.

This edition of talks produced no statement. The second Vienna talks had issued a 9-article statement. The atmosphere has been described strictly controlled by police near the Hotel Imperial.
