Mahmoud Nili Ahmadabadi who was addressing the ceremony of welcoming new students to University of Tehran on Sunday, said that the university had had specific planning in production of knowledge to promote the international status in global competition for excellence in science; “currently, the international status of the university falls short of the prestige lavished upon the university as country’s first ever university, and we have waged unremitting efforts to promote the position,” he told the ceremony.
“30 per cent of the total papers of the university is coauthored and carried out in collaboration with other university researchers; this success is huge in the face of crippling sanctions against Iran; the university now has the highest number of exchange programs and joint ventures with other prestigious universities worldwide, and we hope to see more extended relations post-JCPOA,” he emphasized.
“A priority has been in the university to establish entrepreneurships building upon the excising infrastructures; however, we have a long road to reach at a favorable place; University of Tehran has always been an active party in applied research and our scientists currently working on solving Gotvand Dam issues with salty dam bedrock,” Nili Ahmadabadi said.
