Talking about the trade delegation, Spain's Ambassador to Iran Pedro Antonio Villena had said that his country is ready to resume oil imports from Iran if the sanctions are lifted; since 2012, Spain stopped to import oil from Iran.
During their stay, the Spanish officials will hold talks with Iranian officials to discuss topics like infrastructural developments in Iran as well as cooperation in oil, gas and energy industries.
Representatinves of Repsol, Spain's largest oil company, are scheduled to hold meetings to with the mangers of Iran’s national oil company.
Parallel with the visit, a conference will also be held on Iran-Spain joint collaborations in different areas.
Spain ranks 23rd among the first 50 main exporters to Iran.
Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and Spanish Economy and Competitiveness Minister Luis de Guindos in a meeting in Madrid on April 15 called for improving relations in all areas of economy, especially in tourism and energy sectors.
