Mousavi named as best defender of world league

TEHRAN, Jul. 06 (MNA) – Iranian volleyballer was named as the best defender of the world cup volleyball premier league.

Member of Iranian National Vollyeball Team Mohammad Mousavi Araghi got 65 points and was declared as the best defender of the world volleyball premier league for the second year in a raw.  

The Australian and Italian volleyballers stood second and third respectively.

Meanwhile, Saeed Marouf, the captain of Iranian National Volleyball Team, got 3.87 points for safe setter and stood the second place after the Italian volleyballer.

Gaining 56.23 points, Shahram Mahmoudi, another Iranian volleyball star, was named as the second best spiker after Brazilian rival, with 141 points, and fourth top scorer after Polish, Australian and Brazilian volleyballers.

The world cup volleyball premier league ended on July 04.

Iran’s national volleyball team failed to secure a place in the final six of the 2015 FIVB World League after Poland gained home victory over the American side.

Iran stood in the third spot of Pool B with 18 points, below the US and Poland with 27 and 22 points respectively, while Russia was rooted to the bottom with only 5 points.
