Iran urges Intl. community’s active role in N-talks

TEHRAN, Jun. 14 (MNA) – Iranian FM Zarif has called on the international community to play an active role in the ongoing nuclear negotiations between Iran and the 5+1.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif made the remarks in a meeting with visiting Indian Foreign Secretary Subrahmanyam Jaishankar on Saturday.

Iranian FM, while describing talks between Iranian and 5+1 negotiators, stressed that the international community should not just observe the talks but to play an active role to help achieve fruitful results.

Pointing to the extensive ties between Iran and India, Zarif noted the scopes for further expansion of cooperation in various fields, especially in energy.

The Indian official, for his part, expressed hope that Iran and the 5+1 could reach an agreement on the text of a final agreement soon, adding that such a deal could contribute to the promotion of Tehran-New Delhi ties.
