TEHRAN, August 15 (MNA) –Iran plans to export 1.8 million tons of steel before the termination of current calendar year (March 20), which shows a 20 percent rise as compared to last-year records, an official announced here Sunday.

Fars News Agency quoted the head of Industrial and Mineral Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) of Iran, a subsidiary of Ministry of Industries and Mines, Mostafa Moazzenzadeh as saying that a sharp increase in the world steel prices is a good opportunity for Iran to increase its steel export.

“We have recently increased our export to Europe due to its high demand of steel,” Moazzenzadeh said.

He assured the increased steel export would impose no shortages on domestic market.
