ISNA quoted Public Relations Dept. of Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) here late Saturday that in the first four months, the total exports of agricultural products showed 10.3 percent increase in value but marked 15.6 percent decrease in weight, standing at 232,800 tons.
The average price of the domestic agricultural products stood at $1,553 each ton, demonstrating a 30.4 percent rise compared to the same period last year.
During the said period, $178.8 million worth of pistachio weighing 41,300 tons was exported, which illustrates an 11.6 percent and 5.9 percent hike in terms of weight and value respectively, compared to the corresponding period last year.
Pistachio made up 9.6 percent of the country’s total non-oil exports during the said period.
Skin and salampore, saffron, raisins, and intestine exports brought in 28, 26.5, 25.1, and 16.2 million dollars respectively, listed after pistachio.
Caviar export made a record of 224 percent hike while export of fresh and dried date dropped by 9.4 percent in comparison with the last year figures.
In the period under study, agricultural products accounted for 4.7 percent and 19.4 percent of the total export of non-oil products in terms of weight and value respectively.
