TEHRAN, Jan. 27 (MNA) – The Iranian Navy Commander announced that the Iranian Navy will receive hovercraft equipped with long-range missile capabilities.

The main mission of the Navy is to protect the country's maritime borders, the Iranian Navy Commander Rear Admiral Shahram Irani said.

Referring to the mission of the 86th naval fleet that sailed the earth once with the Iranian destroyer Dena, he added, "This fleet was a symbol of the authority of the people and the Islamic Republic system."

The mission improved the international image of the Islamic Republic of Iran at the international level, admiral Irani said.

Elsewhere in his remarks, he said, "Our hovercrafts will soon join the Navy, which will be equipped with long-range missile capabilities."
