TEHRAN, Dec. 11 (MNA) – Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein AmirAbdollahian and his Turkmen counterpart Rashid Meredov have urged strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries in a telephone conversation.

During the phone call on Monday, AmirAbdollahian and Meredov discussed the latest issues of mutual cooperation and some regional and international issues.

Describing Iran and Turkmenistan’s ties as brotherly relations, AmirAbdollahian termed the borders between the two countries as the borders of peace and friendship.

He also called for strengthening friendly relations between Iran and Turkmenistan.

Meredov, for his part, referred to his recent constructive talks with AmirAbdollahian in Moscow and described the relations between the two countries, particularly in the fields of energy, gas, transport, and road cooperation, as very important.

He reiterated the readiness of the Republic of Turkmenistan to develop relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran in all fields.
