TEHRAN, Jan. 15 (MNA) – An earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale has hit Sirch area in Kerman Province on Saturday evening with no immediate reports of casualties.

According to Iran’s Seismological Center affiliated with the Institute of Geophysics of Tehran University, the earthquake occurred at 5:05 p.m. local time on Saturday at a depth of 12 kilometers.

The quake was also felt in the cities of Kerman, Shahdad and Anduhjerd. 

Rescue teams were immediately dispatched to the affected areas to assess the situation.

There were no immediate reports of injuries or severe damage.
