Salahuddin Borhani, a member of the Takhar Provincial Council made the announcement on Saturday.
He added that the attack was repelled after a few hours.
Taliban has not claimed responsibility for the attack yet.
Takhar is one of the thirty-four provinces of Afghanistan, located in the northeast of the country next to Tajikistan.
