TEHRAN, Apr. 12 (MNA) – Turkey announced a sudden two-day curfew from Saturday night in 31 provinces. Shortly after the announcement, people were seen queuing in front of supermarkets to buy their required supplies.

The areas in front of stores were seen packed with people not following advised social distancing. The curfew is expected to last for two days, with some businesses allowed to remain open, including bakeries and pharmacies, Ruptly reported.

According to Johns Hopkins University, Turkey has registered more than 52,000 coronavirus infections with more than 1,100 deaths, as of Sunday.
