BIRJAND, Nov. 26 (MNA) – The anti-narcotics police of the South Khorasan, the southeastern Iranian province linking the country to Afghanistan and Pakistan, busted a total of 30,000 kilograms of different illicit drugs in the past eight months to November 22.

Deputy Police Chief of South Khorasan province, Saeed Dadgar made the announcement, saying the seizure of illicit drugs in the province has witnessed a 21% growth in comparison with the corresponding period of last year.

The figure includes 29 tons of opium, close to 2 tons of hashish and other drugs, he added.
