TEHRAN, Nov. 23 (MNA) – Major General Gholam Ali Rashid, the commander of Khatam-al Anbiya Central Headquarters and Rear Admiral Alireza Tangsiri, the commander of IRGC Navy visited military bases in the Persian Gulf and warned that any attack against Iran's interests will receive swift and devastating response.

Major General Gholam Ali Rashid, the commander of Khatam-al Anbiya Central Headquarters and Rear Admiral Alireza Tangsiri, the commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy visited military bases on Lesser and Greater Tunbs and Abu Musa.

During the visit, Major General Gholam Ali Rashid said that upon the arrival of the 40th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, the US sanctions and its superficial threats will not have any effects on strong will and determination of the Iranian armed forces to fulfill the goals of the Islamic Revolution.

Major General Rashid described Persian Gulf as Iran’s home and said that the presence of foreign troops in it is inconsistent with the region.

The commander of Khatam-al Anbiya Central Headquarters further said that the enemies are not threatening Iran with military option anymore due to their knowledge of Iran’s military capabilities, adding any military action based on their miscalculation will receive a ‘swift, crushing and devastating’ response and the enemies will regret it soon.

He went on to stress that the three islands of Lesser and Greater Tunbs and Abu Musa are of strategic importance to Iran.

Rear Admiral Alireza Tangsiri, the commander of the IRGC Navy, for his part pointed to the importance and the position of the three Iranian islands, “the positions, fortifications, and the deployment of operational and intelligence forces on these islands are stationed based on pre-planned designs.”

Admiral Tangsiri warned that any action against Iran’s interests in the Persian Gulf and the three islands will result in dire consequences for the perpetrators, expressing the preparedness of the IRGC Navy forces along with other armed forces to defend Iran's airspace and maritime borders.
