TEHRAN, Oct. 28 (MNA) – The Iranian Wushu Sanda have demonstrated outstanding performances at the 9th edition of Sanda World Cup and have won the title.

Iran took part in the Sanda World Cup in Hangzhou, China, with 8 practitioners in both men and women’s divisions and collected 7 gold medals and one silver to win the title for the first time ever.

The Iranian gold medalist were: Yusef Sabri(075); Moein Taghavi (-85kg); Milad Arefi Moghaddam; Elaheh Mansourian; Shahrbanu Mansourian; Mohammad Mohsen Seifi; Farinaz Naziri.

Hamid Reza Golipour (+90) grabbed Iran’s only silver medal.

With this win, Iran put an end to China’s dominance over this sport on the world stage.

The Iranian National team had also won the title at the 14th World Wushu Championships, which took place in the city of Kazan in Russia in 2017. 

Meanwhile, earlier this year, young Iranian Wushu team grabbed the title at World Junior Wushu Championships in Taolu and Sanda competitions, which was held in Brasilia in July 2018.   

The 9th edition of Sanda World Cup kicked off in China on Saturday and it wraped up today.
