TEHRAN, Aug. 04 (MNA) – The Iranian futsal club, Mes Sungun Varzaghan, gained two wins and advanced to the quarterfinal of 2018 AFC Futsal Club Championships in Indonesia.

In a Saturday match held at Gor UNY sports complex, the Iranian team defeated Uzbekistan’s AGMK FC 9-1. Iran's Hossein Tayebi, the top scorer of the event, scored 4 times for his team. Farhad Fakhim (2 goals), Ali Asqar Hassanzadeh, Morteza Ezzati and Ghasem Oruji were other scorers of Iran in this match.

The team had also gained a 9-2 victory over Tajikistan’s FC Sipar in their first match on Thursday.

AFC Futsal Club Championship kicked off on August 1 in Indonesia and will go through August 12, with 16 teams in participation.

Iranian representative is in Group D of the competition along with Lebanon’s Bank of Beirut, Tajikistan’s FC Sipar and Uzbekistan’s AGMK FC.

The Iranian squad will face their Lebanese rivals at their last match of the group round on Monday.
