“Dialogue between officials of the two countries in different fields have always yielded positive achievements,” said Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, referring to good relations between Iran and South Korea.
Rouhani made the remarks on Tuesday in a meeting with the new South Korean ambassador to Tehran while receiving his letter of credentials.
“Today, companies and private sectors of the two countries have good cooperation in different fields, especially energy and they trust each other.” President Rouhani said.
“Iran can always be a sustainable, reliable source for supplying South Korea's energy needs,” added the president of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Rouhani reassured that “the new US administration's decisions are transient, certainly, but despite this, Iran-South Korea relations are historical and deep-rooted.”
On the importance of further development of Tehran-Seoul relations, Rouhani highlighted that the two sides “must not let political events and illegal sanctions harm the two countries' historic relations.”
Jeong-Hyun Ryu who presented his letter of credence to Rouhani in this meeting said "Iran and South Korea had always had good, friendly relations with each other.”
Tehran-Seoul ties have become closer in the recent 5 years, he said adding "I will spare no effort in further deepening of relations and cooperation between the two countries in different fields.”
