“We hope to see the day-to-day growing of bilateral relations between the governments and parliaments of Iran and Lebanon in the new term,” said Mr. Ali Larijaini to his Lebanese counterpart on Sunday.
The Iranian top law-maker made the remarks in a telephone conversation with Nabih Berri, the Speaker of Lebanese parliament. Mr. Larijani congratulated Mr. Berri on his success for winning the position of the Speaker of Lebanese parliament for another time.
“Lebanon is a major country playing a bold role in bolstering serenity and security in the region,” added Mr. Larijani.
The Lebanese top legislator, for his part, thanked Mr. Larijani and said, “friendly ties between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Lebanon are old and continuous and expanding bilateral parliamentary ties is of prime importance.”
“The Lebanese parliament will do its best to act as a bridge to boost bilateral relations between the governments of Iran and Lebanon,” highlighted Mr. Berri.
“Lebanon is resolute to strengthen parliamentary relations between the countries of the region,” said the Lebanese top law-maker.
Lebanese lawmakers overwhelmingly re-elected the country's longtime parliament speaker to the post on Wednesday, tasking the 80-year-old with the post for the 6th consecutive term.
