“In line with Federica Mogherini’s statement on May 9, Bosnia and Herzegovina will stand by the nuclear deal with Iran alongside the European Union,” according to Baqer Ezzat Begovic in a meeting with Iran’s ambassador to Bosnia Mahmood Heidari in Sarajevo on Wednesday.
Pointing to the necessity of abiding by the international agreements, Ezzat Begovic said Iran’s compliance with the JCPOA is conditioned on other parties’ fulfilling their commitments and securing Iran’s benefits in the deal.
The Bosnian official touched upon the necessity of preserving the status of Jerusalem according to the international law and condemned the recent massacre of unarmed Palestinians.
The Iranian ambassador to Bosnia, for his part, addressed the negative consequences of the US embassy move to Jerusalem, saying “the martyrdom and wounding of thousands of innocent Palestinians in recent weeks took place as a result of the cruel and unlimited support of the US government for the Zionist regime.”
