“The recent bombardment of Syria was to make the region insecure and it contributed nothing to resolving the crisis in Syria as the solution is political settlement,” said Ali Larijani, the speaker of Iranian Parliament, on Monday.
He made the remarks in Vietnamese capital city of Hanoi where he met with Trần Thanh Mẫn, the Chairman of the Vietnamese Fatherland Front.
“I appreciate you positive attitude towards forming broad cooperation between Iran and Vietnam and it demonstrates how deep your knowledge is of the history of bilateral relations between Tehran and Hani,” said the Iranian top lawmaker.
“You have made great efforts to achieve your independence and today, because of your independence you are enjoying a high status,” asserted Mr. Larijani, hailing how Vietnam resisted against colonialist and imperialist countries.
According to Mr. Larijani, the two sides also exchanged views on expanding economic relations and supporting at international venues.
“There are some obstacles hindering the expansion relations and these barriers should be cleared to help the merchants of the two countries act with more ease,” reiterated the Iranian parliament speaker referring to areas of oil, gas, petrochemical industries, mining, new technologies, and telecommunications.
He also called for expansion of ties in areas of culture, academy, and economy.
The Vietnamese official, in this meeting, for his part, hailed the achievements garnered by the Islamic Republic of Iran under the auspices of Iran’s Leader Ayatollah Khamenei.
“The Vietnamese government and nation are grateful for the support and help provided by Iranian people especially in time of war against colonialism,” Mr. Thanh Mẫn said.
“Vietnam attaches great respect for the old and friendly traditional ties with the Islamic Republic of Iran and we are calling for more cooperation especially between the two nations and the two governments,” he added.
