TEHRAN, Nov. 22 (MNA) – Iran’s Parliament Speaker, Ali Larijani has emphasized the need to resolve the Yemeni crises through diplomatic means.

Larijani made the remarks at a joint meeting with Mushahid Hussain, a Pakistani politician who serves as a member of the Senate and the Chairman of Senate's Committee on Defense.

The session was held on the sidelines of the 10th meeting of Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA) underway in Istanbul, Turkey.

Early into the meeting, the Iranian Parliament Speaker touched upon Tehran-Islamabad ties saying “we are deeply pleased that Iran and Pakistan enjoy widespread and close parliamentary relations which can hold great momentum for future consultations.”

Ali Larijani later referred to Pakistan’s role in resolving regional crises adding “today, countries like Yemen are facing fundamental problems, so we need to help resolve ongoing issues through a political solution, because ultimately all the problems in the region will be in the interest of Israel.”

The official concluded by stating that the Zionist regime intended to create a political crisis in the region; “we need to talk with regional states and not let US and Israel exploit them in their own favor. Therefore, the influence of Iran, Pakistan and Turkey must be used in addressing regional issues.”

The Pakistani senator, for his part and while referring to good parliamentary relations between the two countries, said that the military and intelligence officials of the two sides had recently had visits which were very fruitful.

“The US is constantly trying to create problems for the countries of the region though it fails every time since Iran is a powerful country regional states are aware that the US cannot take any major measure in this area,” he continued.

Mushahid Hussain called for efforts to further strengthen relations between Iran, Pakistan and Turkey.
