TEHRAN, Nov. 03 (MNA) – Iranian Industry Minister Shariatmadari, who is on an official visit to Iraq, met and talked with planning minister as well as parliament speaker of the neighboring country.

In the course of his visit to Iraq, Iranian Minister of Industries, Mining and Trade Mohammad Shariatmadari attended separate meetings with Iraqi Minister of Planning Salman al-Jumaili as well as Salim al-Jabouri, the Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament.

At Shariatmadari’s meeting with al-Jumaili, the two sides stressed the need to bolster trade cooperation between the two sides and called for removal of existing barriers.

The Iraqi side said Iran played a major role in his country’s economy and invited Iranian firms to participate in reconstructing of Iraq.

Both parties further urged their respective governments to resolve customs and banking restrictions faced by economic activists.

Industry minister of Iran, at a separate meeting with the Iraqi parliament speaker, mulled over and exchanged views on issues of common interest.

Salim al-Jabouri, for his part, emphasized development of ties between Tehran and Baghdad and appreciated Iran’s support in the fight against terrorism.

The Iranian side also congratulated recent victories of Iraqi forces over ISIL terrorists.

Mohammad Shariatmadari went on to reiterate Iran’s firm stance in support of Iraq’s territorial integrity and voiced readiness of Iranian private sector to deepen various relations between the two sides.
