TEHRAN, Sep. 18 (MNA) –Iran’s Velayati says that the Iranian Supervisory Committee on Implementation of the JCPOA will convene after President Rouhani returns from New York.

“Undoubtedly, no bilateral meeting will be held between the Iranian foreign minister and his American counterpart,” reassured the Leader’s Aide Ali Akbar Velayati on Monday after his meeting with the head of China Institute of Middle Eastern Studies in Tehran.

He made the remarks among reporters when he was asked if the foreign minister of Iran and his American counterpart will meet on the sidelines of the UNGA in New York. He asserted that the Iranian foreign ministry has relayed nothing about this.

“But for sure, if any meeting take place it will be with the representatives of 5+1 countries to discuss nuclear issues,” Mr. Velayati underlined. “There is no way for discussing bilateral relations in a meeting,” he stressed.    

Mr. Velayati, the Head of Strategic Research Center at Iran’s Expediency Council, articulated that if Americans decide to renege, Iran will undertake necessary measures.

When the member to Iranian JCPOA watchdog body was asked about the reaction of the committee to US probable breach of the nuclear deal he said that the committee is scheduled to hold a session after President Rouhani returns from New York trip. He reassured that the committee will make up the appropriate decision.

“No violation of the JCPOA by the Americans will be verified unless it is faced with a proper response of the Islamic Republic of Iran,” reiterated the Iranian official.

The Committeee includes President Hassan Rouhani, Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani, Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, Defense Minister Hossein Dehghan, Secretary of Iranian Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani, Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran Ali Akbar Salehi, and the Head of the Strategic Research Center Ali Akbar Velayati as well as leader advisor and representative Saeid Jalili.
