“We will not succumb to the avarice of specific governments,” said Bahram Ghasemi, the Spokesman of Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on Sunday, according to the state run TV, the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Broadcasting.
“The agency [IAEA], with its independence and the self-protection should exercise for its international status, will barely yield to illogical and unrealistic demands imposed by the others,” asserted the Iranian diplomat.
Ghasemi affirmed that “no permission will be issued by Iran for entering into areas red-lined in the agreements of the JCPOA, and IAEA inspections will certainly be done within the framework of Iran’s domestic policies.”
The foreign ministry spokesman reassured that nobody will be able to impose their preferences over the will of the IAEA and he highlighted that necessary warnings had been given to the Agency by Iran. He added that Iran will continue the same way in the future.
When Ghasemi was asked to comment on Nikki Haley’s evaluation of her trip to Vienna, he asserted that everybody can claim their trips success. He rejected that any change is possible in the JCPOA as it has been attested by the IAEA and UN resolution.
“The framework of interaction with the IAEA is unchangeable and Iran has had the best cooperation with the entity so far, something which has been repeatedly verified in Agency’s numerous statements that Iran has been fully compliant with the JCPOA,” underlined the Iranian senior diplomat.
“Bearing in mind the current developments in the region and the world, the US is willing to cast Iran as a violator of the JCPOA, using exhausted and unfruitful methods, and claim that Iran has not been cooperative with the agency,” articulated the spokesman, “but, fortunately, with the shrewdness exercised by the whole body of Iran’s Establishment the plot has been foiled.”
