In two separate letters sent to Lebanese Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil and Hezbollah Secretary General Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah on Monday, Zarif congratulated them as well as the Lebanese people and government on the 11th anniversary of Lebanon’s victory in the 33-day war.
“This great victory, which was the result of many sacrifices and acts of bravery made by Lebanese nation, as well as the national unity among all political and popular groups, has made Lebanon all the more immune and stronger against the expansionism and greed of the Zionist regime,” Zarif wrote in his letter to Bassil.
In his letter to Hezbollah chief, Zarif hailed Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah for his wise diplomacy alongside sacrifices and self-devotions made by resistance fighters as well as the endurance of Lebanese people, which brought about this “great and sweet” victory against the Israeli regime and its allies.
He also maintained that Hezbollah’s recent victory against Nusra Front militants on the outskirts of the Lebanese town of Arsal near the Syrian border has thrown the regional and international allies of Israeli regime into further despair.
