The 2017 edition of UWW Junior World Wrestling Championships will convene in Tampere, Finland, August 1-6.
Accordingly, Iran’s hopes in the freestyle category are pinned on Alireza Sarlak (50kg), Nader Nasri (55kg), Younes Emami (60kg), Amirhossein Hosseini (66kg), Mohammad Motaghinia (74kg), Ahmad Bazri (84kg), Danial Shariatinia (96kg) and Naeim Hassanzadeh (120kg) who will be led by Taghi Akbarnejad as head coach.
The freestyle events at the 2017 Junior World Championships took place on September 03-04 in the French city of Mâcon where Iran’s outfit ranked fourth overall with two gold, one silver as well as one bronze medal. Russia (66 points), Azerbaijan (49 points) and Turkey (43 points) ranked first to third, respectively.
For the Greco-Roman division, Iran’s squad will comprise Saman Abdevali (59kg), Ali Arsalan (66kg), Afshin Biabangard (71kg), Pejman Peshtam (75kg), Ramin Taheri (80kg), Hossein Noori (85kg), Seyed Mostafa Salehizadeh (98kg) in addition to Behnam Mahdizadeh (130kg).
For the Greco-Roman division, Iran’s squad will comprise Pouya Dadmarz (50kg), Mohammad Javad Rezaei (55kg), Keramat Abdevali (60kg), Amin Kavianinejad (66kg), Mohammad Sharbi (74kg), Arman Alizadeh Abdevali (84kg), Amirmohammad Norouzi (96kg) as well as Amin Mirzadeh (120kg).
Hamid Bavafa will accompany Persian Greco-Roman wrestlers as the head coach with Mhadi Sharbiani as the supervisor.
The prestigious international tournament will take place on four UWW approved mats located in Tampere Exhibition and Sport Center (TESC), Finland.
