Speaking at a meeting with South Korean Prime Minister Lee Nak-yeon in Seoul, Iran’s Larijani voiced optimism towards growing trend of multidimensional relations between the two countries.
Referring to the launch of a new five-year development plan in the Islamic Republic of Iran, the official called for renovation of relations in various economic, commercial, banking, energy, environmental, rail and tourism spheres.
Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, while pointing to removal of banking and trading barriers in Iran’s relations with some European countries, stressed the need for similar measures in bilateral ties between Tehran and Seoul.
Larijani also voiced Iran’s readiness to welcome investment by South Korea in oil and gas sectors adding “the Iranian Parliament will exploit its capacities to implement reached agreements between the two sides.”
South Korea’s PM Lee Nak-yeon, for his part, recalled memories of his earlier visit to Iran and voiced his country’s readiness to boost and cement relations between the two countries.
He also delineated advancements of South Korea in technological and automaking areas calling for exchange of experience and know-how in state-of-the-art sectors.
Nak-yeon said Iranian tourists enjoy a rich and profound culture saying “we are ready to reinvigorate relations in tourism, economic and business arenas.”
At the end of the joint session, South Korea’s prime minister slammed the recent terrorist attacks in the Iranian capital of Tehran.
