Head of Strategic Research Center Ali Akbar Velayati voiced his condolences over the martyrdom of a number of Iranian people in near-simultaneous attacks on Iran’s Parliament and the mausoleum of Ayatollah Khomeini, saying despite the tragic event, the great Iranian nation is standing together against enemies' plots.
“Enemies and those with malicious intent against Iran can never damage the unity of the Iranian nation,” Velayati said. “This terrorist attack is indicative of the hostility of terrorists and Takfiri extremists [against Iran] emboldened by support from certain reactionary states in the region, as well as some Western countries, especially the US.”
“With the help of God and unity among our people, the malicious plots of these countries will return to themselves,” he said.
Velayati went on to add, “the Islamic Iran has stood for almost six years alongside the suppressed nations in the region against enemies who sought to undermine Islamic countries and their legitimate governments in order to achieve their own sinister goals.”
“Terrorists and other takfir extremist groups and their sponsors will be eliminated with the grace of God,” he said.
