TEHRAN, Jun. 06 (MNA) – Iranian Foreign Minister Zarif exchanged views on regional issues with his Qatari counterpart over the telephone.

The phone conversation between Iran’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammad Javad Zarif and his Qatari counterpart Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani took place on Monday evening.

Zarif had previously exchanged views with eight of his counterparts in Islamic countries.

On Monday morning, Saudi Arabia, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Egypt and the United Arab Emirates announced that they halted diplomatic relations with Qatar.

Three of its neighbors, Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Bahrain, all have blocked all land, sea and air routes to Qatar.

The decision was made with allegations by Saudi Arabia in a statement via its state-run Saudi Press Agency that Qatar harbors “a multitude of terrorist and sectarian groups that aim to create instability in the region”.
