Reza Jafarzadeh, Head of Iran's Civil Aviation Organization public relations office, stated that over the past two years, demand of foreign airlines for making presence in the Iranian market has followed an upward trend as 18 new firms have arrived in the country.”
“As such, the overall number of foreign airlines operating has reached to 48 companies,” highlighted the official.
Given that Iran’s Foreign Ministry has provided proper grounds for constructive relations with other countries, various transport delegations have sought to make flights to Iran in the past two years, noted Jafarzadeh.
The official went on to maintain that geographical and market advantages have created an atmosphere of competition among several foreign companies willing to make flights to Iran.
Currently, different Iranian cities possess numerous attractions for attracting tourists for pilgrimage, cultural and historical purposes, said CAOI spokesperson asserting “scores of foreign visitors are eager to travel to Iran though much effort is still needed to achieve desired conditions.”
British Airways and Air France are among the 18 airlines who have launched direct flights to Iran during the last two years, Jafarzadeh concluded.
